Parents® Look at me camera Review

I recently had the chance to review the Parents® Look At Me Camera. Before I tell you what I thought let me tell you a little about why I love Parents® toys.

As a best selling parenting magazine it is no surprise that Parents® would have an amazing line of toys. In my opinion, the greatest quality of Parents® toys is that they stimulate the childs intellect, motivate their motor skills and inspire their imagination. We own the Mini Monet,Busy Zoo and the Pound-a-ball and Sophie just adores all three! All of Parents® toys are made phthalate free so you can be assured your child is safe while playing.

Sophie loved the Look At Me Camera from the moment I opened the box. It's very visually appealing to kiddos with the big fish-eye mirrored lens. Not only does it LOOK fun but it also offers a number of fun feaures. With a realistic shutter sound and vogue-inducing music at the push of a button, this camera will have your child hamming it up in no time!

You can purchase The look at me camera and other Parents® Toys at your local Target or online at Target.com

The Secret Mountain book review

I recently had the opportunity to review three books from the Secret Mountain publishing group. The books I received to review were Dream Songs Night Songs From Belgium to Brazil, Down at the Sea Hotel and A Duck in New York City Each book is accompanied by a CD that compliments the story.

Dream Songs Night Songs From Belgium to Brazil
This is the first book we read of the three. What I liked about this book is that the music CD is very relaxing and would be ideal for bedtime relaxation. What I did not like about the book was that I found there to be no real story line and I was unable to hold Sophie's attention while reading this. I felt the story was very sporadic and I did not quite understand what I was reading. I did like some of the bright illustrations in this book. Some of the illustrations were are little bit advanced and seemed to be metaphorical but some were very cute and well drawn.

Would I recommend this book? Most likely, no

Down at the Sea Hotel
Sophie seemed to enjoy this book. It is a relaxing bedtime story with an enjoyable CD to go along featuring singers like Billy Joel, Don Henley and Guy Davis. The bright illustrations really drew Sophie's attention and we enjoyed talking about each picture.

Would I recommend this book? Probably

A Duck in New York City
LOVED this book. This was BY FAR our favorite of the three and has become a daily read at our house. This book is about a small duck who makes his journey to New York City to fulfil his dreams of dancing on Broadway. The illustrations are outstanding and the fun story line had Sophie's undivided attention and begging to read it again.

Would I recommend this book? ABSOLUTELY!

A Little good clean fun with Aquadoodle and Bath Blizzard! (Review)

When we first received the Aquadoodle Draw and Doodle Mat and the Bath Blizzard I quickly tore open the boxes thoroughly excited to try them out! These fun products from Spinmaster are an innovative way for your preschooler to enjoy play time and tub time without the messes and tantrums that can sometimes be associated with the two!

Bath Blizzard from Kid Kleen:

Spinmaster is excited to launch Kid Kleen, a new line of kids bath toys guaranteed to make getting clean fun for your kiddo!

The Bath Blizzard is a super fun bath time toy that instantly creates a fun bubbly foam with just the turn of a knob. Mounted from the faucet of your tub, the bath blizzard quickly produces a 'waterfall' of soapy fun!

What I,as a mom, loved most about this product is that it is the solution used to fill the tank is SAFE. Kid Kleen products are safe for all children as they are Non-toxic,WHEAT free,Tear free and Hypo-allergenic. You can be at ease knowing that you are using a product that is ophthalmologist and pediatrician approved.

Sophie was quite impressed with this toy. She was instantly squealing delightfully as the bubbles started flowing in to the tub. I was worried BC Sophie has extremely sensitive skin. Ive tried sensitive skin bubble bath products before and they always seemed to leave her rashy! THIS however did not! The only complaint I would say I have about the Bath Blizzard is that I can't seem to keep Sophie out of the bath now! We definitely give The Bath Blizzard Two Thumbs up!

Aquadoodle Draw and doodle mat from Spinmaster:

If there is one thing Sophie loves it's definitely drawing! The minute she laid eyes on the Aquadoodle Draw and doodle she was super excited and could not wait to get to drawing.

Although Sophie is fairly advanced in her drawing skills she is still 2 and a half and we have had our fair share of coloring on the wall incidents! What I love about this mat(one of the many things I love!) is that there is no ink involved! NONE! The only thing needed for this is water!

The mat itself is 36X36in and is bordered with step by step illustrations to help your little one learn to draw simple pictures. With this mat my two year old has mastered drawing a little girl "stick" person. Quite an accomplishment for her age!

Spinmaster definitely has a great product on their hands with Aquadoodle. The durable and re-usable mat is sure to be used over and over for hours of mess free fun! At the age appropriateness of 2+ Aquadoodle is sure to spark your little ones imagination and creativity!

The Bath blizzard(MSRP $19.99) and the Aquadoodle draw and doodle mat(MSRP $24.99) are available at most major retailers(Find them in the toy aisle).

K'NEX Sesame Street building sets- A review.

When I received this item in the mail I was so ecstatic that I tore it open and I was literally anxious for Sophia to wake up from her nap! Sophia is 2 and a half years old and is just fascinated by building things. Whether it be blocks Lego's or stacking boxes to create a play zone, she is a builder! The problem that we often run across in picking out a new item of the sort for Sophia is that the pieces are tiny and she has a hard time connecting them.

When she first saw the Oscar the grouch building set that we received she was so giddy that she did this cute little dance while I was opening it! The set consists of 14 building pieces including Oscars beloved pet Slimy the worm! I dumped the pieces out and she instantly started busily figuring out how to put it together.

Its so great to see her little mind work and know that she is enjoying playing with a character block set that features one of her favorite friends from her favorite show!

I was amazed by how fascinated she was while putting Oscar together. The sets are designed specially for ages 2-5 and The pieces are very toddler friendly and don't require the strength and coordination that some of the competing brands require, yet keep your tots mind and creativity flowing. And what is even better is that once you build Oscar you have endless possibilities of what you can construct with the pieces! Bonus feature: Oscars storage container doubles as Oscars favorite hangout, his trash can!

The Sesame Street K'NEX building sets come in quite a variety. The basic character sets retail at $10.99 and the sets go to $31.99. Such endless possibilities for your little tyke to put their minds to work.

The sets have just launched and are now available for purchase in select stores. Visit http://knex.com/sesame-street-building-sets/ to view the entire collection.

Overall this mom gives the K'NEX Sesame Street building sets two thumbs up!
