Just another day

I need a vacation. Somewhere hot. No I take that back, somewhere with "octoberish" weather.

Sophie is having one of 'those' days(weeks really). For those of you who don't know Sophie has Sensory Integration and she has moments/days/weeks in which she is just so out of sorts and its like she is a little compact tornado on crack running around(yeah not the best analogy).

The day started when she woke up at 4:15am. Seriously, can anyone have a good day when they wake up at fricking 4 am? I don't know how many times I had to redirect her. Whether it was she was dragging her head across the carpet, profusely spitting all over, biting her hands, licking the carpet, pulling her hair, pulling MY hair. When she is in these 'sensory meltdown' modes, she feels no pain. I was talking with the maintenance guy who came over to fix my dryer which was obnoxiously squeaking and she went into the bathroom and I found her sitting on the counter(she used her step stool) with my Mitchum gel deodorant rubbing it in her hair. "mommy me pretty" she says.

Don't get me wrong, I love my child, more than anything in this entire universe. she is my heart and soul and I live everyday of my life for her. she IS my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. But sometimes I just stop and think "what in the fuck happened here heather?" 3 years ago you were walking around with a minimal amount of care in the world and then almost overnight you are walking around cleaning poop off the walls and scrubbing egg yolk out of your carpets.Surviving on an average of 4 hours of sleep a day.

Parenting is not what I expected it to be. But its the best damn job I've ever had.
